This is Kya's mommy writing now.
Nick and I have been having a competition to see which word Kya was going to say first, Mama or Dada.
Last night, out of the blue....she says several times....Mama!!!
YAY!!!!!! My heart is bursting!
Nick thinks it's because I'm with her more, but really while he's gone I show her pictures of him and say "dada". I think "mama" is just easier.
We'll see if today brings more words if any!
She's growing up too fast!!!

oh that is awesome!!! Jorja's first words were "dada" so it has nothing to do with the fact she's with you all the time... she just honestly likes you better! heehee!! :) I remember the first time Jorja said Mama and it totally melted my heart - I know how you feel. I still get butterflies when she says. It's just awesome!! WAY TO GO KYA!!!!

Yay! How exciting! It will be so weird to hear her say something. She is still a little newborn to me.
Yeah for first words. Lynlee's was definitely Dada and it took a looooong time before she said Mama!
That's awesome! Genevieve has been saying "Dada" for MONTHS now, and just yesterday she finally said "Mama"! FINALLY at almost 16 months old. You're blessed to have heard it sooner!
She is soooo smart... You know its harder for babies to make the "m" sound because it requires more speech effort. She is a prodigy in the making. Sorry, "Da Da Nick"...means your girl is going to be brilliant. :) Of course! I think Kathy and I should get some credit, Tawny. You know she did hear our voices at work quite a bit turning gestation. LOL :) I take some credit without any shame. :D

Noooooo.......mama isn't easier! Lily said dada for 6 months before she said mama. It drove her mother wild! She JUST now said mama and she's 17 months old!
